State Meet FAQ 1
State Meet FAQ 1: Answers to a few questions we’ve been getting
– If you look at the lifting schedule on the meet flyer you will see that bench/deadlift only is on Friday, and full power is on Saturday. This means that if you sign up for bench/deadlift only AND full power, you must lift twice. You compete in your bench/dead only lift on Friday, and then must compete again on Saturday in full power. Your lift from the single lift meet does not count for the full power meet. This is because we’ve split the meet into two days because of the number of lifters. If we were running bench/dead inline with full power then one lift would count for both, but not if we are running them at separate times.
– If you sign up for bench/dead and full power you may weigh in once, or twice, it’s up to you. You may weigh in 24 hrs before your event starts. The earliest you can weigh in for bench/dead only is Thursday evening, while the earliest you can weigh in for full power is Friday morning. Thus you could weigh in Thursday for bench/dead, and then again on Friday/Saturday for full power, or, weigh in Friday for both full power and bench/dead.
– No knee covering objects of any kind (sleeves, wraps, scarfs, pants, your lucky binky) are allowed in the Raw division. Period. We know some federations allow knee sleeves and wraps in Raw, the APF/AAPF does not. Please ensure you are familiar with the rules for the federation if you are a new lifter and let us know if you have any questions: http://www.michiganapf.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/WPC_Rule_book_Official_Website_2014.pdf
